Sales Tax increased by 28% during first 11 months of current fiscal year

Tax Collection Cross PKR 4 trillion mark for the first time

FBR tax collection Jul-May increased by 19% year on year to PKR 4.4 trillion compared to PKR 3.7 trillion during same period of last year. This is first time in the history of Pakistan that country has crossed tax collection of PKR 4 trillion. During fiscal year 2020, FBR tax collection were PKR 3.9 trillion.

Jul-May 2021, total tax refunds has increased by 74% to PKR 216 billion compared to PKR 124 billion during first 11 months of fiscal year 2020.

Sales tax collection during first 11 months of current fiscal year up by 28% year on year to PKR 1,956 billion compared to PKR 1,525 billion during 11 months of fiscal year 2020. Custom duty increased by 19% year on year to PKR 676 billion in comparison to PKR 570bn during 11 months of fiscal year 2020. 12% year on year growth have been witnessed in Federal Excise to PKR 251 billion compare to PKR 225 billion during 11 months of fiscal year 2020.

During month of May 2021, FBR tax collection remained PKR 385 billion, which is the highest in the history of Pakistan.
