Pakistan Rupee Gains More than PKR 2 in Interbank Trading as Country Inching Towards Securing IMF Deal

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board meeting for the combined seventh and eight review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) will be held on August 29th 2022 says IMF resident to Pakistan.

Karachi August 18 2022: Pakistan Rupee appreciate today in the interbank trading after losing 0.46% in yesterday trading session as IMF confirm date for board meeting despite dollar gains against major currencies.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board meeting for the combined seventh and eight review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) will be held on August 29th 2022 says IMF resident to Pakistan.


Moreover, Dollar index gains 0.26% in today’s trading to 106.748.

The rupee appreciated by 30 paisa in the interbank to trade at 214.57 against dollar. On Wednesday, Dollar closes at 214.88 in the interbank trading after depreciating 0.46 percent in a day.

Pakistan Rupee appreciates more than 12 percent since 28th July 2022 from its low of 239.94 against dollar as country inching closer to IMF deal.

Earlier on 13th July 2022, IMF staff and the Pakistani authorities have reached a staff level agreement on policies to complete the combined 7th and 8th reviews of Pakistan’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
