Karachi July 18 2023: Pakistan Rupee breaches fall in interbank by PKR 2.74 against dollar on shortage of dollars.
Pakistan Rupee fall PKR 2.74 or 1.0 percent to trade at PKR 282 (PST 13:40) in interbank against the dollar. Yesterday, Rupee slip by 0.6 percent to close the day at PKR 279.26 in interbank.
Yesterday, in open market Pakistan Rupee depreciates by PKR 2.5 against dollar to close at 285.65.
“The dollar gained Rs3 to Rs4 in the open market. The main reason is the short supply, which increased the dollar prices on Monday,” said Zafar Paracha, General Secretary of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan while speaking to DAWN.
He said the high prices in the grey market have also affected the local exchange market, which has lost most of its business.
