Ministry of Energy, explained this shortfall could not be met at present due to lower electricity generation from Tarbella and Mangla. At present, both units are producing 3,300 MW lower than their potential and Ministry of Energy expects this generation to come online as water flow improves.
As per IRSA, current water level at Tarbella and Mangla recorded 41 ft SPD and 62 ft SPD higher from their dead levels.
