Karachi August 24 2023: The foreign exchange reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) saw a reduction of USD 125 million in the past week due to debt repayments, according to data released by the Central Bank.
As of August 18, 2023, the current level of SBP reserves is USD 7,930.5 million.
During the same time frame, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks decreased by USD 6 million, reaching USD 5,318 million as of August 18, 2023.
Overall, the country’s total reserves experienced a decline of USD 131 million, reaching USD 13,248 million by the week ending on August 18, 2023.
