Islamabad May 11 2023: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar during the seminar has said that whether there is IMF or not, Pakistan will not default.
Pakistan has fulfilled all the conditions and steps have been taken for the agreement according to the conditions of the IMF.
Expressing the delay in the staff level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Federal Finance Minister said that rumors about Pakistan’s default should not be spread, global politics based on injustice towards Pakistan should end.
He said that 3.7 billion dollars have to be paid by June, Pakistan will fulfill all promises and make timely payments.
The finance minister said that if the IMF wants more time for the staff level agreement, then they can take more time.
Earlier today while talking to the international organization Bloomberg, the IMF spokesperson had said that the talks with Pakistan on the issue of debt are going on, there was no indication of a deadlock in the talks from Pakistan.
IMF said that Pakistan has assured not to give petrol subsidy while seeking assurance from Pakistan on policy issues.
