Islamabad August 1 2023: Government of Pakistan increase prices of Petrol and Diesel by PKR 19.90 per liter and PKR 19.95 per liter , accorrding to finance minister of Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
After this increase, the price of Petrol will be PKR 272.95 per liter and HSD at PKR 273.40 per liter, according to finance minister.
Increase in prices will be implemented on immediate basis, according to Dar.
"In the current fortnight, petroleum products prices in the international market have increased substantially. MS (Petrol) price has increased from $89.14 per barrel on 16th July 2023 to $97.39 on 31st July 2023. whereas, High Speed Diesel price has increased from $96.26 to $111.46 per barrel" as per official notification.
"The cost of petroleum products in Pakistan is directly linked to the international prices of these products. Therefore, the increase in domestic prices is inevitable and beyond the con. of the Govt. of Pakistan" the notification added.
