Islamabad June 1 2022: Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah has said that Pakistanis living abroad have not been deprived of their right to vote in the old and new law.
The remarks were made during a hearing on a petition seeking disenfranchisement of Pakistanis abroad.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah while hearing the case remarked that the earlier amendment in the law was the same, now the amendment has been further clarified.
The Chief Justice remarked that both the amendments were not depriving him of his rights.
Petitioner's counsel also took the position that no one can say that Pakistanis abroad do not have the right to vote.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the only procedure for voting of Pakistanis abroad is to decide. Further hearing of the case was adjourned till June 3.
