Islamabad August 11 2022: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) makes and notifies positive adjustment of PKR 11.389 per kWh in the approved tariff on account of variation in fuel charges for the month of June 2022 in respect of K-Electric Limited.

The positive FCA of June 2022 shall be applicable to all the consumer categories except lifeline consumers.

The Authority understands that burdening the consumer with FCA of June 2022 i.e. PKR 11.1 023/kWh in August would not be in the interest of the consumers. The Authority has further noted that in the matter of XWDISCOs the Authority has allowed PKR 9.8972/kVTh as FCA for the month of June 2022 to be recovered in the month of August 2022.

In view thereof, the Authority has decided to charge PKR 3.0114/kWh, for the FCA of June 2022 in billing month of August 2022. Whereas, the remaining i.e. PKR 8.0909/kWh shall be charged in the billing month of September 2022.

This adjustment shall be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the respective month to which the adjustment pertains.

In the FCA decision for the month of May 2022, an amount of PKR 6.8858/kWh will be charged in the month of August 2022 which was inadvertently mentioned as
PKR 6.8860/kWh in the decision of the FCA of KE for the month of May 2022. Therefore, KE is directed to charge PKR 6.8858/kWh for the FCA of May 2022 in the month of August 2022.

K-Electric shall reflect the fuel charges adjustment in respect of June 2022, in the billing month of August & September 2022.
