Economy helps boosting lending opportunities
Moody's expect GDP growth of between 3% and 4% for fiscal 2022 with economy to grow between 4% and 5% for fiscal 2023
Pakistani banks successfully navigated the pandemic while Moodys expect nonperforming loans (NPLs) to remain high but broadly stable at around 9% of gross loans.
Profitability will rise moderately and earnings to rise due to new business generation and gradually recovering net interest margins.
