Monthly Imports Cross USD6 Billion Mark For the First Time

Islamabad July 2 2021: Country imported goods of USD6,286 million during the month of June 2021 as per data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Imports of Goods make historic high with growth of 70 percent in comparison to imports of USD3,703 million during the month of June 2020. Goods imports posted growth of 18 percent as compared to imports of USD5,308 million during May 2021.

Exports of Goods during the month of June 2021 posted phenomenal growth of 68 percent to reach at the level of USD2,692 million. Trade Deficit during the month of June recorded at USD3,594 million which is 71 percent higher to that of last year.

During the fiscal year 2021, trade deficit witnessed an increase of 34 percent to USD31,057 million from 23,159 million during last fiscal year 2020. Exports also increased from USD21,394 million during fiscal year 2020 to USD31,059 million during the fiscal year 2021, showing a growth of 18 percent. Imports also increased from USD44,553 million during fiscal year 2020 to USD56,325 million during the fiscal year 2021, showing a growth of 26 percent.
