Finance Division through its notification extends the last date for encashment, conversion or redemption of National Prize Bonds worth of PKR 25,000/- and PKR 40,000/- till 30th September 2021.
The extension in date of redemption was granted through separate notifications for each category of prize bonds. Government has taken decision to terminate prize bonds in order to discourage tax evasion.
As a result of this step, investment in prize bonds reduce by PKR 234bn to PKR 658bn during last 21 months, as per data of SBP.
