Islamabad June 03 2021: As per the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Electricity prices increased by 61.62 percent on year on year basis.
Moreover, petroleum product prices also witnessed significant increase in their prices. This is despite the fact the Government has kept the prices unchanged for the last two months at a time when international oil prices hit its two and half months high. As per the data, the Petrol increased by 45.39 percent, Diesel by 37.83 percent and LPG by 26.38 percent.
The other items that surged during the year including Eggs (37.49 percent), Mustard Oil (34.74 percent), Gents Sandal (33.37 percent), Match Box (31.64 percent), Gents Sponge Chappal (25.13 percent), Vegetable Ghee (22.59 percent), Washing Soap (21.42 percent) and Sugar (21.38 percent).
The items that showed decline on year on year basis mostly belongs to agriculture sector. These include Garlic (30.45 percent), Pulse Moong (22.04 percent), Onions (21.29 percent), Potatoes (16.92 percent) and Pulse Masoor (1.57 percent).
