Deposits of scheduled increased by 16 percent to PKR17,955 billion

Investment to deposits ratios increased to 73 percent

KARACHI June 09 2021: Deposits of scheduled banks increased by 16 percent year on year basis to PKR 17,955billion as of May 31, 2021 compared to PKR 15,481billion as of May 31, 2020.

Government Raises PKR161 Billion Through PIBs Auction


Advances of scheduled banks also increased by 5 percent year on year to PKR 8,811billion as of May 31, 2021 compared to PKR 8,357billion as of May 31 2021.

Investments recorded at PKR 13,068billion as of May 31, 2021 which are also 26 percent higher compared to same month of last year.

That said, Advance to deposits ratio (ADR) dropped to 49 percent in May 2021 down by 491 basis points on year on year basis and 27 basis points on month on month basis.

Investment to deposits ratio (IDR) increased to 73 percent in May 2021, up 571 basis points on year on year basis and 207 basis points on month on month basis.
