Lahore December 23 2022: The opposition has withdrawn the no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi.
Pakistan Muslim League-N Member Punjab Assembly Tahir Khalil Sindhu while explaining the reason to BBC’s Imad Khaliq said that now Parvez Elahi is no longer the Chief Minister, that’s why he has withdrawn the motion of no confidence.
However, he has clarified that the action on the no-confidence motion against the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker will be taken forward and those motions are not being withdrawn.
It should be noted that Governor Punjab had de-notified the Chief Minister Punjab last night for not taking a vote of confidence on his advice. This decision of the governor has been challenged by Pervez Elahi in the Lahore High Court, which will be heard by a larger bench after some time.
