Islamabad August 8 2021: On Friday August 6, 2021, around 27.6 percent of Karachi Stock Exchange All Share Index (KSE All Share Index) volume happen in stocks that belong to the default segment, as per data published by Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
During the Friday trading there was total 497 million shares traded out of which 137 million traded shares belong to Defaulter segment. The top trading stock at KSE on Friday was Pervez Ahmad Consultancy Services Limited that falls in Defaulter Segment with trading volume of 66.9 million. Interestingly, two out of top three volume leaders were from Defaulter Segment. Dost Steel Limited, which also falls in Defaulter Segment, witnessed volume of 25.9 million shares. Unity Food which stood at second place in terms of traded volume with more than 35.5 million of shares was the only stock in top three that does not belong to defaulter segment.

Four out of top ten traded stocks at KSE were from defaulter segment. Apart from Pervez Ahmad Consultancy Services Limited and Dost Steel Limited, the other two heavily traded at PSX from Defaulter Segment were Summit Bank Limited and Hascol Petroleum Limited. Around 24 million shares of Summit Bank Limited and 19 million shares of Hascol Petroleum Limited were traded on Friday August 6, 2021.
According to PSX, currently there are 89 stocks in the Defaulter Segment due to different reasons. The weight of all stocks that falls in Defaulter Segment is just 0.36 percent of total market capitalization. Hascol petroleum weight has the largest weight in Defaulter Segment that is around 28 percent.
