Copenhagen August 13 2022: Maersk, world largest shipping company, says its temporarily suspending C&F based export shipments for Pakistan based customers due to restrictions imposed by the State Bank of Pakistan.
“We at Maersk, are committed to facilitate our customers in any unprecedented situation and always strive to make your supply chain experience seamless.” Says company in its letter to customers.
The letter further stated, “As you are aware that SBP has imposed some restrictions/limitations on outward freight remittances for foreign carriers operating in Pakistan that has put us in a very difficult situation for accepting your C&F (Freight Prepaid) shipments for a time being.”
To maintain their services, Maersk is compelled to temporarily suspend acceptance of C&F (Freight Prepaid) bookings with effect frorn 15th August 2022 until remittances restrictions are eased/lifted by SBP.
“However, we are pleased to confirm that we will continue to accept your Export bookings on FOB (Freight Collect) terms as usual.
We really appreciate your support and understanding of the current situation/challenge and we will try our best to facilitate and continue to serve your international logistics needs.” says management.
