Karachi March 11 2024: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) loss increases to PKR 9.3 billion in first half of 2023 compared to PKR 1.9 billion recorded in the same period last year, according to company filing to the exchange.
During the first half, the company experienced a gross loss of PKR 2,197 million, a significant shift from the gross profit of PKR 2,061 million recorded last year. Moreover, the company’s finance costs surged by 35.5 percent to PKR 3,011 million.
Additionally, the company incurred other charges amounting to PKR 6,257 million, marking a 17.5 percent increase from last year’s figure of PKR 5,321 million.
Sui Southern Gas Company Limited’s main activity is transmission and distribution of natural gas in Sindh and Baluchistan. The Company is also engaged in certain activities related to the gas business including the manufacturing and sale of gas meters and construction contracts for laying of pipelines.
