Lahore May 18 2023: In Multan, eight to nine Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders from South Punjab have announced to quit the party in a press conference condemning the events that took place on May 9.
Earlier, Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former federal minister Malik Amin Aslam has also announced to leave Tehreek-e-Insaf condemning the events of May 9.
Among these leaders were the current and former members of the Punjab Assembly who condemned the attack on GHQ and Lahore Corps Commander House and said that ‘We have never been a part of such atrocity before and we will not be a part of it in the future. ‘
He said that “Pakistan’s army and institutions are ours.”
Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA from Muzaffargarh Mohammad Ashraf Khan Rand said that “first comes the state and then politics. What happened on May 9 was chaos, not politics.”
