Karachi March 10 2022: Foreign exchange reserves held by State Bank of Pakistan decrease by USD 250 million during the week ending March 4, 2022, as per data released by the Central Bank.
This is the fourth consecutive decline in the reserves of the State Bank of Pakistan. The main reason of this decrease in foreign exchange reserves is external debt repayments.
At present, SBP reserves stands at the level of USD 16.212 billion as of 4th March 2022 compared to USD 16.462 billion at the end of week ending 25th February 2022.
During the same period, foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks increased by USD 44 million to the level of USD 6.456 billion as of 4th March 2022.
Overall reserves held by country witnessed a decrease of USD 206 million during the week of 4th March 2022.
