Riyadh April 16 2023: Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) suspended all flights to and from Sudan until further notice after an Airbus A330 on Flight SV458 was exposed to gunfire at Khartoum International Airport before taking off to Riyadh at 7:30 UTC this morning.
The ” SAUDIA ” emergency team responded immediately and is working side by side with all relevant authorities, led by the Kingdom’s embassy in Sudan, to obtain more information about the incident.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s deep concern over the state of escalation and military clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in the brotherly Republic of Sudan.
The Kingdom calls on the military component and all political leaders in Sudan to give priority to the language of dialogue, restraint, and wisdom and to unite the ranks in a way that contributes to completing the consensus that has been achieved, including the framework agreement aimed at reaching a political declaration by which political stability, economic recovery, and prosperity will be achieved for Sudan.
