Riyadh December 13 2024: Saudi Industrial Production Index (IPI) increased by 5.0% In October 2024 compared to the same month in the previous year (October 2023), supported by the growth in all economic activities. On a monthly basis, IPI increased by 0.4%.
Compared to October of the previous year, the sub-index of manufacturing activity increased by 12.4%, supported by an increase in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products which increased by 32.6%, and the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, and the manufacture of food products, which increased by 0.6% and 4.8% respectively.
On a monthly basis, the sub-index of manufacturing activity showed an increase of 1.1%, affected by the rise in the activity of the manufacture
of coke and refined petroleum products, which increased by 2.7%, and the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products which increased by
0.2%.
In October 2024,the sub-index of mining and quarrying activity increased by 0.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. Saudi Arabia
increased its oil production to 8.97 million barrels per day in October 2024 compared to 8.94 million barrels per day in October 2023.
On a monthly basis, the sub-index of mining and quarrying activity remained stable at the same level as the previous month’s performance.
The sub-index of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activity recorded an annual increase of 6.2%. The sub-index of water
supply, sewerage and waste management and remediation activities increased by 8.4%.
Based on the month-on-month trend, the sub-index of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activity, and the sub-index of water
supply, sewerage and waste management and remediation activities increased by 0.9% and 1.4%, respectively.
