Islamabad June 12 2023: Machines were installed on the berth to extract oil from the Russian tanker and the process of removing the oil from the ship will begin shortly.
The ship carries 45 thousand metric tons of oil that will be transferred from the ship in 24 to 48 hours directly to Pakistan Refinery (PRL’s) tanks.
“I have fulfilled another of my promises to the nation. Glad to announce that the first Russian discounted crude oil cargo has arrived in Karachi and will begin oil discharge today.” Says Prime Minister Pakistan.
He added, “Today is a transformative day. We are moving one step at a time toward prosperity, economic growth and energy security and affordability”
“This is the first ever Russian oil cargo to Pakistan and the beginning of a new relationship between Pakistan and Russian Federation” Shahbaz says.
