Karachi May 27 2022: Pakistan rupee gains 2.25 rupee against the dollar after falling for seventeen consecutive days to close below 200 in the interbank as Pakistan increases petroleum prices to resume IMF program.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday emphasised upon Pakistan the urgency of “removing fuel and energy subsidies” to achieve programme objectives.
“Govt is committed to reviving the IMF programme and put Pakistan back on a sustainable growth path” says Finance Minister.
The Rupee gains nearly 1.13% or 2.25 rupee to close at 199.76 in the interbank.
In the open market, the dollar gains 2 rupee and is trading at 202.0 at 16:30 PST.
Yesterday, Rupee closes at an all-time low of Rs202.04 in the interbank market.
