Rupee finally close up 1.3 against Dollar from all time low on government assurance
Karachi June 8 2022: Rupee gained in the interbank by 1.31 against the dollar on Wednesday to close the trading at Rs 201.52.
Yesterday, the dollar closed at Rs 202.86. On the other hand, in the open market, the rupee strengthen by 90 paisa to Rs 204.1.
Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan General Secretary Zafar Paracha said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed the SBP to take action against banks involved in speculation, which had led to a significant decline in the dollar’s rate and stabilisation of the exchange rate.
Two days earlier, SBP in a statement said, “Foreign currency accounts including Roshan Digital Accounts are protected under Foreign Currency Accounts (Protection) Ordinance, 2001 and GoP and SBP are committed to protect all financial assets in Pakistan including the ones mentioned above”
