Islamabad March 20 2023: Minister of Petroleum Mossadeq Malik has said in a press conference that ‘just as the gas tariffs were separate for the rich and the poor, now yesterday the Prime Minister has presented this scheme that the poor will get petrol at a lower price of PKR 100 per liter.’
According to him, we have been given six weeks time to reduce the price of petrol for all motorcyclists under this scheme and we have been instructed to implement this scheme in six weeks.
Mossadegh Malik claimed that ‘under this scheme, instead of subsidy, money will be taken from the rich and handed over to the poor.’
According to Mossadegh Malik, the owners of big vehicles will pay higher price of petrol so that the price of petrol will decrease for the poor. In this, instead of 50, the difference of about 100 rupees will be made on the orders of the Prime Minister.
According to him, the decision to reduce the price of gas has been implemented from January 1.
“On the instructions of the prime minister, we had earlier separated the gas tariffs so that the poor man would pay a quarter of the gas price and on the contrary, the rich people who have heaters in every room would pay four times the price.”
It should be noted that yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to give a subsidy of PKR 50 per liter on petrol for the low-income group in the country.
