Dhaka December 4, 2022: Ahalf-century stand for the tenth wicket between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman gave Bangladesh a brilliant win in the first ODI against India in Dhaka on Sunday.
At 136/9, Bangladesh looked all but out of the match in a run chase of 187 before a spectacular turnaround reversed the script in Dhaka in a thrilling finish to the first ODI.
Skipper Litton Das led the run chase early on with a 41 off 63 balls, but when he and Shakib Al Hasan, whose five-for restricted India in the first innings, fell, India looked set to make a comeback in the match.

Debutant Kuldeep Sen’s double-wicket over followed by Mohammed Siraj trapping Hasan Mahmud in front meant Mehidy Hasan Miraz was down to his last partner.
But Mustafizur safeguarded his end while giving a fearless Mehidy the confidence to unleash his strokes, which he did in plenty. Sloppy fielding from the Indians aided Mehidy as he went about fashioning a remarkable comeback for his team.
Mehidy remained unbeaten on 38 to win the Player of the Match as the unbeaten 51-run partnership for the final wicket led Bangladesh to a terrific win.

The partnership of 51* was the second-highest for Bangladesh in ODIs for the tenth wicket. It was also the fourth-highest partnership for the tenth wicket in a successful run-chase in men’s ODIs.
The record-breaking stand gave Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
