Lahore November 19 2023: The caretaker government of Punjab has made the use of face masks mandatory for all citizens in all smog-affected districts in the province.
A recent announcement said that these orders have been issued for the next week. The Punjab administration says that prioritizing health is ‘our collective and primary responsibility.’
In a statement issued by the health department of the province, it has been said that ‘in view of the increase in air pollution in the smog-affected districts of the province of Punjab, people of all ages may face health-related problems. As a remedy, it has been decided to use a face mask before going out of the house for a week.
The announcement further states that the districts to which these orders of the provincial government will apply are Lahore Division (Lahore District, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur) and Gujwanwala Division (Gajwanwala, Gujrat, Narwal, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin).
The mandatory use of masks by the Punjab government will be applicable from November 20, 2023 to November 26, 2023.
