Islamabad November 03, 2021: Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan calls on the Prime Minister Lt. General Victor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan today.
The Prime Minister reiterated his felicitations on the re-election of Uzbek President in the Presidential elections held in Uzbekistan on 24 October 2021. In the bilateral context, the Prime Minister noted with satisfaction the growing cooperation and enhanced trajectory of high-level visits between the two countries.

The Prime Minister expressed pleasure at signing of the Protocol on Establishment of Joint Security Commission (JSC) between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and holding of first meeting of the forum in Islamabad. He said that the newly created Commission will boost bilateral security cooperation in addressing counter-terrorism, drug and human trafficking, and trans-national organized crime.
Highlighting regional connectivity as an important pillar of Pakistan?s ?Vision Central Asia? policy, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan?s support to the Trans-Afghan railway project and stressed the importance of its early completion. Prime Minister Imran Khan underscored the importance of urgent humanitarian and economic assistance by international community to avert economic crisis in Afghanistan.
He also underlined the importance of stability and peace in Afghanistan for realization of connectivity agenda and regional prosperity. The Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to the Uzbek President to visit Pakistan at the earliest convenience.
