Islamabad March 12 2022: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said on Friday that more than PKR 40 billion had been distributed among youngsters across the country under Kamyab Jawan Programme. He said this while talking to media at University of Lahore (UOL).
He said that out of the above mentioned amount Rs 29 billion had been distributed among youngsters under Kamyab Jawan Business Loan in Punjab. SAPM said that over Rs 5 billion had been distributed in Lahore among youngsters to start their businesses adding that the main objective of Kamyab Jawan Programme was to create jobs.
Usman Dar said, “Till now the programme had created jobs for 50,000 persons and out of which 36,000 jobs have been created for people in Punjab.” He further said that more than 9,000 people in Lahore had been given direct employment through Kamyab Jawan Business Loan Programme and besides this 160,000 scholarships had also been given to students and out of which 65,000 scholarships had been given in Punjab and 9,000 in Lahore. Special Assistant to Prime Minister said that all these steps were being taken in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to empower youth and to make them self reliant.
These initiatives would play significant role in bridging the gape between academia and industry, he added. Usman Dar said that it was very pleasing to mention that every month Rs 3 to 4 billion were being disbursed to youngsters in the country which he said was helping them to start their own businesses. He further said that Kamyab Jawan Sports and Talent Hunt drive had been formally started and from tomorrow weightlifting and wrestling sports drive would be launched from Gujranwala.
He said, “Talha Talib is an ambassador of Kamyab Jawan weightlifting and Inam Butt ambassador of Kamyab Jawan wrestling.” He hoped that athletes of University of Lahore would also participate in this drive. He further said that Kamyab Jawan conventions would be held across the province. To a question, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during its sit-in days had faced tough situations and added that opposition was free to use all its negative tactics but it would never succeed in its designs. Later, addressing the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Convention at UOL, Usman Dar thanked Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin for extending all support and cooperation to five flagship programmes launched under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said, “Flagship programmes of the incumbent government includes Kamyab Pakistan Programme, Ehsaas Programme, Naya Pakistan Housing Programme , Health Card and Kamyab Jawan Programme.”
Usman Dar also paid tribute to the Bank of Punjab, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and all those who played their role in strengthening youngsters.” He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had empowered youth through ‘Kamyab Jawan Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme’ and ‘Kamyab Jawan Skills for All’ so that youngsters could not only fulfil their own needs but create job opportunities for others as well. He emphasized on students to focus on becoming entrepreneurs and added that Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted youngsters of the country to be job creators not job seekers. He further stressed upon the students to practice their power of right to vote as it was very important for better future of the country.
