KARACHI: Sales of petroleum products fell by 15 percent MoM to 1.54 million tons during February 2022, as per data of OCAC.
The decline in sales is witnessed due lower days of months.
Sales of Motor Spirit (MS) during February 2022 decreased by 12 percent MoM to 0.65 million tons compared to 0.74 million tons during January 2022. On YoY basis, the sales of MS increased by 4 percent.

During 8MFY22, the MS sales has been witnessed at 5.91 million tons compared to 5.37 million tons during same period last year. Sales of MS has increased by 10 percent during 8MFY22. The rise in sales is witnessed due to higher demand on the back of increased sales of auto mobiles in the country.
Same trend has been witnessed in the sale of High Speed Diesel (HSD), which is down by 20 percent MoM during February 2022.
During 8MFY22, the HSD sales has been witnessed at 5.69 million tons compared to 4.84 million tons during same period last year. Sales of HSD has increased by 18 percent during 8MFY22. The rise in sales is witnessed due to higher demand on the back of increased sales of auto mobiles and higher power generation on HSD.
Sales of Furnace oil (FO) also down by 13 percent MoM during February 2022 to 0.22 million tons.
During 8MFY22, the FO sales has been witnessed at 2.39 million tons compared to 2.09 million tons during same period last year. Sales of FO has increased by 14 percent during 8MFY22. The rise in sales is witnessed due to higher power generation on FO.
