Islamabad June 11 2022: The SPI for the current week ended on 09th Jun, 2022 recorded an increase of 2.67%, reported by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Friday.
Increase observed in the prices of food items Potatoes (7.01%), Tomatoes (6.15%), Vegetable Ghee 1 kg (3.62%), Eggs (3.30%), Milk Fresh (2.51%), Pulse Gram (2.31%), Vegetable Ghee 2.5 kg & Curd (2.02%) each, Onions (1.96%), Cooked Daal (1.66%) and Cooking Oil 5 litre (1.45%), non-food items Hi-Speed Diesel (17.18%) and Petrol Super(16.61%) with joint impact of (2.99%) into the overall SPI for combined group of (2.67%).
On the other hand, decrease observed in the prices of Chicken (10.53% ), Garlic (0.43%), Wheat Flour (0.22%), LPG (0.12%) and Bananas (0.07%).
During the week, out of 51 items, prices of 33 (64.70%) items increased, 05 (9.81%) items decreased and 13 (25.49%) items remained stable.
The year on year trend depicts an increase of 23.98%, Onions (148.22%), Tomatoes (148.11%), Petrol (92.16%), Diesel (83.33%), Mustard Oil (76.25%), Vegetable Ghee 1 Kg (73.62%), Pulse Masoor (67.53%), Cooking Oil 5 litre (67.11%), Vegetable Ghee 2.5 Kg (65.71%), Garlic (64.21%), LPG (62.64%) and Washing Soap (49.24%), while major decrease observed in the prices of Chillies Powdered (43.42%), Pulse Moong (19.70%), Electricity charges for Q1 (11.71%), Sugar (10.93%), Gur (1.86%) and Bananas (1.10%).
