Islamabad April 5 2025: Pakistan’s trade deficit decreased by 7.83 percent in March 2025 compared to February 2025, to US$2.119 billion due to 5.10 percent surge in exports, , according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Exports were increased by 5.10 percent compared to February 2025 to US$2.617 billion in March 2025 while imports decreased by 1.11 percent to US$4.736 billion compared to the trade numbers in February 2025, according to the data.
Year-on-Year, the trade deficit also decreased by 7.39 percent in March 2025, with imports decreasing by 2.45 percent and exports increasing by 1.95 percent.
Country’s local exports grew by 7.69 percent, reaching US$17.899 billion during the period from June 2024 to March 2025 compared to US$17.128 billion in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, imports increased by 6.33 percent, totaling US$42.589 billion, up from US$40.054 billion in the same period last year.
The trade deficit increased by 4.50 percent to US$17.899 billion in the first nine months of the current financial year (2024-25) compared to the same period last year.
