Islamabad July 18 2024: Refineries throughput witnessed an increase of 30.2 percent during the month of May 2024 as compared to the corresponding month of last year (May 2023), OCAC reported.
A part from Kerosene oil, all other products contributed positively to the refineries throughput increase.
Likewise, the production of motor spirits by 19.9 percent, high speed diesel by 30.1 percent, furnace oil by 48.7 percent, Hit Octance by 329.6 percent, Light Diesel Oil by 122.9 percent, and Jet fuel by 9.4 percent.
The variants that witnessed negative growth in production included kerosene oil, the output of which went down by 38.2 percent.
However, the overall throughput of Refineries during July-May (2023-24) witnessed an increase of 11.3 percent as compared to the corresponding period of fiscal year (2022-23).
During this period, the production of Light diesel oil went up by 42.1 percent, Motor Spirit by 5.4 percent, High Octane by 60.4 percent, High Speed Diesel by 13.9 percent and Furnace oil by 18.8 percent.
The variants that witnessed negative growth in production during July-May (2023-24) included jet fuel, output of which declined by 9.1 percent while the output of kerosene oil declined by 8.7 percent.
