Islamabad December 3 2024: In November 2024, the country’s exports were increased by 8.98 percent to $2.804 billion while trade deficit decreased by 18.60 percent to $1.589 billion compared to the trade numbers in November 2023, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Imports for the same month were $4.393 billion, compared to $4.525 billion in November 2023. This reflects a 2.92% decrease in imports compared to the same month last year.
Month-on-month, the trade deficit increased by 0.19 percent in November 2024, with exports declining by 5.97 percent and imports by 3.83 percent.
For November 2024, exports were $2.804 billion, up from $2.982 billion in November 2024, while imports were $4.393 billion, slightly lower than the $4.568 billion recorded in October 2024.
The trade deficit contracted by 7.39 percent in the first four months of the current financial year (2024-25) compared to the same period last year.
From July to November 2024-25, local exports grew by 12.57 percent, reaching $13.691 billion compared to $12.162 billion in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Meanwhile, imports increased by 3.90 percent, totaling $12.342 billion, up from $21.503 billion in the same period last year.
