Karachi October 3 2024: Pakistan’s Central Bank reserves saw an increase of US$ 1,168 million, reaching a total of US$ 10,701.7 million, during the week ending September 27, 2024.
This growth in reserves is primarily attributed to the receipt of US$ 1,026.9 million from the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
These are highest level of SBP reserves since 16th April 2022, according to central bank data.
According to a press release by the central bank, the country’s total liquid foreign reserves amounted to US$ 15,982.9 million as of September 27, 2024, while net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at US$ 5,281.2 million.
