Sub Heading Car Sales Drop 5% to 226,720 units in 2022
Islamabad January 11, 2023: As per the latest data shared by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), car sales decreased by 38 percent year on year to 16,984 units during the month of December 2022.
As compared to the same last month, auto sales also decreased by 8 percent.
Wagon R’s sales hit the most among Pak Suzuki variants by 70 percent year on year to 872 units from 2,861 units. While Bolan sales were down by 55 percent year on year to 464 units during December 2022 from 1,040 units. Sales of Alto also declined by 25 percent to 6,898 units compared to 9,195 units in December 2021. Overall sales of Pak Suzuki Motor decreased by 27 percent year on year to 11,342 units during December 2022.
Combined sales of Corolla and Yaris decreased by 64 percent year on year to 1,879 units during December 2022. Sales of Fortuner and Hilux also decreased by 11 percent year on year to 944 units. Overall sales of Indus Motor Company decreased by 55 percent year on year to 2,823 units.
Sales of Civic and City decreased by 78 percent year on year to 981 units when compared to the sales of December 2021. Honda sold 1,098 units of BRV during December 2022, which is down up 262 percent year on year. Overall sales of Honda Cars decreased by 56 percent year on year to 2,079 units.
Sales of Tucson increased by 53 percent year on year to 353 units among all variants sold in Pakistan when compared to the sales of December 2021. Hyundai sold 61 units of Porter during December 2022, which is lower by 55 percent year on year. Overall sales of Hyundai decreased by 21 percent year on year to 603 units.
