Islamabad August 14 2022: Ministry of Finance is reviewing Letter of Intent shared by the IMF few days ago and after some amendments we will send it to International Monetary Fund tomorrow says Pakistan’s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail.
He added, “We have made some changes to it and right now we have shared it with IMF for review, after reaching mutual consent on the changes being made to it we will send the signed Letter of Intent to IMF”.
Pakistan has received a Letter of Intent from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on 12th August 2022.
Signing of LoI is the only thing left for the board’s approval in reviving the IMF program for Pakistan. It should be noted that the Pakistan will receive payment of USD 1.17 billion from IMF after completion of 7th & 8th review, for which Pakistan has also fulfilled the pre-conditions of the Fund.
