Islamabad January 20 2023: Government of Pakistan has decided to waive demurrages charges from importers for container stuck at the port.
“Realizing the difficulties faced by the business community due to the containers stuck at the ports for the past several weeks, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs has decided to waive the amount of fines received by the ports and also in the fines imposed by the terminals” says Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Subzwari.
“In this difficult time, efforts can be made to stabilize the economy only by making it easier for the business community. In this regard, the officials of the Ministry will meet with important representatives of the business community and consult on further steps.” Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Subzwari.
