Islamabad May 2 2022: Pakistan trade deficit decreased 42.59 percent during the month of April when compared to the previous month to USD 1,444 million, the lowest level in more than 13 years, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,2124 million while Imports were USD 2,953 million during April 2023.
The data showed that exports during April 2023 were 10.46 percent lower than exports of March 2023, while 13.45 percent higher compared to exports of April 2022.
The data showed that imports during April 2023 were 12.62 percent lower than imports of March 2023 and decreased by 55.67 percent compared to imports of April 2022.
Resultantly, Trade deficit decreased by 42.59 percent during the month of April 2023 when compared with data of the corresponding month last year.
Moreover, trade deficit also decreased by 39.62 percent during the period from July to April 2023 to USD 23,713 million when compared with data of the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the period from July to April 2023 decreased by 11.71 percent to USD 23,174 million when compared with the same period last year while imports during the same period decreased by 28.44 percent to USD 46,887 million.
