Islamabad March 1 2022: Pakistan trade deficit decreased 35.23 percent during the month of February when compared to the previous month to USD 1,704 million, the lowest level in last 30 months, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,305 million while Imports were USD 4,009 million during February 2023.
The data showed that exports during February 2023 were 2.72 percent higher than exports of January 2023 and 18.67 percent lower compared to exports of February 2022.
The data showed that imports during February 2022 were 17.76 percent lower than imports of January 2023 and decreased by 31.51 percent compared to imports of February 2022.
Trade deficit decreased by 43.56 percent during the month of February 2023 when compared with data of the corresponding month last year.
Moreover, trade deficit also decreased by 33.18 percent during the period from July to February 2023 to USD 21,300 million when compared with data of the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the period from July to February 2023 decreased by 8.65 percent to USD 18,793 million when compared with the same period last year while imports during the same period decreased by 23.56 percent to USD 40,093 million.
