Islamabad January 4 2023: Pakistan trade deficit increased 2.36 percent during the month of December to USD 2,857 million when compared to the previous month, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,304 million while Imports were USD 5,161 million during December 2022.
The data showed that exports during December 2022 were 3.64 percent lower than exports of November 2022 and 16.64 percent lower compared to exports of December 2021.
The data showed that imports during December 2022 were 0.41 percent lower than imports of November 2022 and decreased by 31.91 percent compared to imports of December 2021.
Trade deficit decreased by 40.68 percent during the month of December 2022 when compared with data of the corresponding month last year.
Moreover, trade deficit also decreased by 32.65 percent during the period from July to December 2022 to USD 17,133 million when compared with data of the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the period from July to December 2022 decreased by 5.79 percent to USD 14,249 million when compared with the same period last year while imports during the same period decreased by 22.63 percent to USD 31,382 million.
