Islamabad April 4 2022: Pakistan trade deficit decreased 20.7 percent during the month of March when compared to the previous month to USD 1,461 million, the lowest level in since March 2015, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
As per the latest data released, exports stood at USD 2,367 million while Imports were USD 3,828 million during March 2023.
The data showed that exports during March 2023 were 8.03 percent higher than exports of February 2023 and 14.76 percent lower compared to exports of March 2022.
The data showed that imports during March 2023 were 5.11 percent lower than imports of February 2023 and decreased by 40.25 percent compared to imports of March 2022.
Trade deficit decreased by 59.75 percent during the month of March 2023 when compared with data of the corresponding month last year.
Moreover, trade deficit also decreased by 35.51 percent during the period from July to March 2023 to USD 22,900 million when compared with data of the corresponding period last year.
Exports during the period from July to March 2023 decreased by 9.87 percent to USD 21,046 million when compared with the same period last year while imports during the same period decreased by 25.34 percent to USD 43,946 million.
