Islamabad July 23 2024: : Pakistan Federal Minister for Power Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Monday said that the government is taking all possible measures to bring reforms in power sector to reduce tariff rate.
“Reforms in the power sector is imperative to bring an electricity tariff rate at an affordable price, “ he said while talking to a private television channel.
“We are reviewing the agreements made by the previous governments with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), “ he said.
There is also a need to reduce capacity payments, he added.
Leghari said, it is the top most priority of the government to lower burden from consumers of electricity and for this, all necessary steps are being taken to achieve the objectives.
