Islamabad September 2 2022: Pakistan textile exports increased by 6 percent to USD 1.55 billion during the month of August as compared to the same period last year, revealed by All Pakistan Textile Manufacturing Association on Friday.
Basic textile exports will hurt badly in the coming months as the recent deluges are said to have submerged a third of the country, with Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman saying that “monster” monsoon floods have washed away 45 per cent of the country’s cropland, mainly in Sindh and caused around $10 billion in damages on the whole.
In 2MFY23, textile exports increased by only 3% as compared to 2MFY22.
The growth in textile exports reduced to single digit due to lack of energy supplies.
Moreover, textile exports were also increased by 5 percent when compared with the exports of USD 1.48 billion in the previous month.
