Islamabad June 2 2023: Engro Fertilizer Limited, Pakistan second largest fertilizer manufacturer, shut its phosphate plant for 26 days on lower demand, according to notification issued by the company.
“Engro Fertilizers Limited (“the Company”) has a plant situated at Port Qasim (the “Plant”), which produces specialty fertilizers with an annual capacity of ~150 KT. By way of this Disclosure, the Company wishes to announce that the Plant will be shut down from June 5, 2023, to June 30, 2023, (both days inclusive) to more efficiently manage its inventory and production. Notwithstanding the temporary closure, the Company intends to meet the projected demand for the products manufactured at the Plant” states the company.
“Country carries inventory of 398 thousand tons NP at the end of May 2023” as per data published by Arif Habib Limited.
