Islamabad July 24 2022: Refineries throughout witnessed a increase of 8.1 percent during the month of May 2022 as compared to the corresponding month of last year (May 2021), OCAC reported.
Moreover, production of high margin products High Speed Diesel, Motor Spirit and Jet Fuel Oil increased during the month of May 2022.
Production of High Speed Diesel inclined by 5.1 percent in May 2022 with production of 3.01 million barrels when compared to production of 2.86 million barrels in the same month last year. Likewise, the production of Jet fuel increased by 83.8 percent in the month of May 2022 when compared to May 2021.
Motor Spirit production inclined by 4.5 percent in May 2022 with production of 1.78 million barrels when compared to production of 1.70 million barrels in the same month last year.
Likewise, the production of Furnace oil increased by 24.6 percent, lubricating oil by 17.8 percent and Jute Batching Oil by 13.8 percent.
The petroleum products that contributed in negative growth in production included Kerosene oil, solvent Naptha and LPG.
Likewise, the production of kerosene oil decreased by 3.9 percent, diesel oil by 78.3 percent, Solvent Naptha by 14.2 percent and LPG by 1.1 percent.
Similarly, the overall throughput of Refineries during July-May (2021-22) witnessed an increase of 1.7 percent as compared to the corresponding period of fiscal year (2020-21).
During this period, the production of jet fuel went up by 31.9 percent, kerosene oil by 6.6 percent, High Speed diesel by 1.1 percent, lubricating oil by 12.3 percent, jute batching oil by 5.5 percent, solvent Naptha by 3.6 percent and LPG by 3.0 percent.
The variants that witnessed negative growth in production during July-May (2021-22) included, Motor Spirit, output of which declined by 0.7 percent while the output of Furnace oil declined by 5.2 percent.
