Islamabad March 18 2025: Pakistan Large Scale Manufacturing Sector Output Decreased by 1.22 percent for January, 2025 when compared with January 2024 and increased by 2.09 percent when compared with December 2024, according to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The food sector experienced a 7.7% growth in January 2025, while the chemicals sector saw a 12.5% decline in output. Iron and steel production decreased by 11.9%, electrical equipment output fell by 11.4%, and machinery and equipment production dropped by 20.9%. Additionally, other manufacturing, including football production, declined by 15.9% during the same period.
Wearing apparel production grew by 15.1%, while coke and petroleum product output rose by 19.6% during the month. In January 2025, production in the automobile, other transport equipment, and tobacco sectors surged by 28.8%, 33.9%, and 27.6%, respectively.
Overall Large Scale Manufacturing Sector has shown a growth of -1.78 percent during July-January 2024-25 when compared with the same period of last year.
