Islamabad May 2 2024: Pakistan inflation increased to 17.3% on year-on-year basis in April 2024, the lowest number in last 23 months, as compared to an increase of 20.7% in the previous month and 36.4% in April 2023.
On month-on-month basis, it decreased to 0.4% in April 2024 as compared to an increase of 1.7 in the previous month and an increase of 2.4% in April 2023.
CPI inflation Urban, increased to 19.4% on year-on-year basis in April 2024 as compared to an increase of 21.9% in the previous month and 33.5% in April 2023. On month-on-month basis, it decreased to 0.1% in April 2024 as compared to an increase of 1.4% in the previous month and an increase of 2.0% in April 2023.
CPI inflation Rural, increased to 14.5% on year-on-year basis in April 2024 as compared to an increase of 19.0% in the previous month and 40.7% in April 2023. On month-on-month basis, it decreased to 0.9% in April 2024 as compared to an increase of 2.1% in the previous month and an increase of 3.0% in April 2023.
In food basked decline in prices of Onions (15.58%), Fresh vegetables (11.98%), Wheat (10.44%), Wheat Flour (9.67%), Tomatoes (6.23%), Eggs (4.30%), Pulse Gram (1.15%), Pulse Masoor (1.00%), Sugar (0.96%), Fresh Fruits (0.95%), Besan (0.85%), Gram Whole (0.49%), Wheat Products (0.44%), Gur (0.36%), Condiments and Spices (0.30%), Dry Fruits (0.28%), Tea (0.21%), Vegetable Ghee (0.14%), Cooking Oil (0.12%), Pulse Moong (0.12%), Honey (0.10%), Beverages (0.02%) and Beans (0.01%) was recorded during the month. While in non-food prices of Electricity Charges (9.50%), Liquified Hydrocarbons (0.60%) and Construction Input Items (0.12%) recorded fall during the month.
