Islamabad October 1 2022: Pakistan inflation General, increased to 23.2% on year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 27.3% in the previous month and 9.0% in Sep 2021, according to data published by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Saturday
On month-on-month basis, it decreased by -1.2% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.4% in the previous month and an increase of 2.1% in Sep 2021.
Inflation in Urban areas, increased to 21.2% on year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 26.2% in the previous month and 9.1% in Sep 2021. On month-on-month basis, it decreased by -2.1% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.6% in the previous month and an increase of 2.0% in Sep 2021.
Inflation in Rural areas, increased to 26.1% on year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 28.8% in the previous month and 8.8% in Sep 2021. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.2% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.2% in the previous month and an increase of 2.3% in Sep 2021.
SPI inflation on YoY increased to 28.6% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 34.0% a month earlier and an increase of 16.6% in Sep 2021. On MoM basis, it decreased by -1.4% in Sep 2022 as compared to increase of 5.2% a month earlier and an increase of 2.7% in Sep 2021.
WPI inflation on YoY basis increased to 38.9% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 41.2% a month earlier and an increase of 19.6% in Sep 2021. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 1.4% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 3.1% a month earlier and an increase of 3.2% in corresponding month i.e. Sep 2021.
Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy Urban increased to 14.4% on (YoY) basis in Sep, 2022 as compared to an increase of 13.8% in the previous month and 6.4% in Sep, 2021. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.9% in Sep, 2022 as compared to an increase of 1.8% in previous month, and an increase of 0.4% in corresponding month of last year i.e. Sep, 2021.
Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy Rural increased to 17.6% on (YoY) basis in Sep, 2022 as compared to an increase of 16.5% in the previous month and 6.2% in Sep, 2021. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 1.4% in Sep, 2022 as compared to an increase of 1.8% in previous month, and an increase of 0.5% in corresponding month of last year i.e. Sep, 2021.
